Today, I was honored to receive the Sarasota Magazine award for #1 Florist in Sarasota for the 15th consecutive year. This is an award I never take lightly and feel it belongs to our dedicated employees at Beneva. Having a turnover of under 10% a year, I feel this is the true accomplishment. It means our staff is happy. They love coming to work and it shows in receiving this award.
Beneva has been family owned since 1986 beginning with my father and mother, along with me as a helper. Throughout the years and evolution of technology, I quickly realized that I needed to grow my “family”. I also realized that technology can also create a disconnected experience where a customer can easily feel like a number. This was the first obstacle I was determined to not allow to occur. The rest is teamwork and communication. Together, we all have created this TEAM of staff that I am extremely proud of!
Our most recent accomplishment is the ability to buy flowers from our wholesale importing division and offer grower bunches of flowers to our customers so they can enjoy long-lasting, affordable flowers for as little as $10 a bunch. Just give us a vase and allow our talented design staff create a design with those fresh flowers. We know most people do not think about sending flowers until an occasion arises. We offer a 24 hour delivery service so no matter when you need flowers, we will be there to deliver them. It’s never too late to send flowers with us. Our drivers all wear Beneva shirts and handle flowers with the best care. They are our representation in our community.
Speaking of community, we have dozens of local nonprofit groups and schools we donate to quarterly with our Helping Hands donation program. We never forget where we came from and giving back is paramount. Every time you mention a participating organization, Beneva donates 5% of the entire order to them. Even a little every day creates much needed support for the future, which begins today. It is never too late to start giving back with us.
As a member of the Elegant Sarasota Weddings network, you could easily see our vans and staff setting up breathtaking floral designs at beaches and resorts all along the Gulf of Mexico. Beneva is the House florist of the Ritz Carlton in Sarasota, and the preferred florist at the Longboat Key Club, The Ringling, The Helmsley Sandcastle, Hyatt Siesta Key, and many more. Again, we never take this for granted. We don’t just say our slogan, we live it every day, “Exceeding Your Expectations”.
