Bosses Day was created in 1958 as a way to show appreciation for everything bosses do each day that goes unnoticed. It was started by Patricia Bays Haroski when she realized how hard her boss worked. Since her boss was also her father, she chose his birthday, October 16th, to be the official day of observance, and in 1962, the governor of her state signed Bosses Day into being.
