To that end, we’re more than happy to share our tips and tricks for keeping them fresh and long-lasting. With just a little effort, you can ensure that your design has a long life, whether it’s a vase of roses, a mixed arrangement or a bunch of tulips. Read on to find four of our top tips for larger-than-life (and longer than) flowers.

1. Add 1 teaspoon of aluminum sulfate to the arrangement in order to make the flowers last longer. You can purchase this at many home stores or garden stores.

2. Make sure there are no leaves in the water, just the stems. This improves the look and quality of the water and allows the flowers to last longer by avoiding bacteria and fungi in the water that can affect the health of the flowers.

3. Change out the water every couple of days with cool, fresh water. The best and easiest way to do this is to let your faucet run into the container to eventually obtain clear and clean water.

4. If there is an oasis (foam) in the arrangement or basket, be sure to keep it moisturized, checking daily to ensure it is still moist. These dry out quickly.
